I have been asking Protestants questions on another message forum to test the validity of Catholic Dogma, Theology and Tradition. Through this whole process, my belief in the one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church has become much more strong.

Protestants refuse to ask even the most elementary questions about the Holy Bible, even though they claim to love the Holy Bible. I have gone from debating Protestants to having them very quickly refusing to answer my questions. They claimed my questions are trick questions even though many of us Traditional Catholics would have no problem answering these same questions.

I am surprised I lasted as long as I did on this forum (Last Nov.-Feb). They have now added strict security measures within the last month to keep from having their consciences bothered by simple questions of faith.

Below are some of the questions I have asked Protestants on that forum,

Quote
Two Questions to Ponder. No Response Needed.
Do you believe Jesus is God?
Do you Believe Mary is the mother of Jesus?

If you believe the answer to both of these questions is yes, then you admit.......

Mary is the Mother of God.

Does God ever Give Permission for The Holy Bible to Be Changed or Altered?

Keep in mind when voting that Protestants have already attempted to change the Holy Bible but have failed miserably since we still have the Douay Rheims Catholic Bible translated from the Latin Vulgate, Diligently compared with the Hebrew, Greek and other languages.

    Always!
    Sometimes!
    Never!

Is Denial of God's Revealed Truth, Denial of Jesus?

If a person who says, “I believe in Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior”, yet, knowingly denies God's revealed truth, is this denial of God's revealed truth, denial of Jesus?
The purpose of this poll is not a theological debate on who's right and who's wrong. I am interested in finding out, do  many people believe people are denying Jesus when they knowingly deny any part of God's revealed truth?

    Yes!
    No!
    Unsure!

[31] Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows. [32] Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven. [33] But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven. [Matthew 10:33]  [34] Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. [35] For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

came to set a man at variance: Not that this was the end or design of the coming of our Saviour; but that his coming and his doctrine would have this effect, by reason of the obstinate resistance that many would make, and of their persecuting all such as should adhere to him.

Do we need Correct Dogma/Theology to Obtain Salvation?

Can A Person Reject Correct Dogma/Theology and Truly Believe in Jesus?

How Can A Person Reject Infallible Dogma/Theology and Claim to Believe in Jesus?

I believe many people reject Infallible Dogma/Theology because they are Spiritually Lazy. They want Jesus to save them in Spiritual Laziness.  ::frown::

F.Y.I. Protestants do not Believe in Traditional Catholic Mass and so Therefore

Protestants do not celebrate (CHRIST-MAS) Christmas.

    Origin of the word
The word for Christmas in late Old English is Cristes Maesse, the Mass of Christ, first found in 1038, and Cristes-messe, in 1131. In Dutch it is Kerstmis, in Latin Dies Natalis, whence comes the French Noël, and Italian Il natale; in German Weihnachtsfest, from the preceeding sacred vigil. The term Yule is of disputed origin. It is unconnected with any word meaning "wheel". The name in Anglo-Saxon was geol, feast: geola, the name of a month (cf. Icelandic iol a feast in December).

Do we Have to be in the State of Sanctifying Grace to Avoid Hell?

    Yes
    No.

First Epistle Of Saint Paul To The Thessalonians Chapter 4:6-10
[6] And that no man overreach, nor circuмvent his brother in business: because the Lord is the avenger of all these things, as we have told you before, and have testified. [7] For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto sanctification. [1 Thessalonians 4:7] [Latin] [8] Therefore, he that despiseth these things, despiseth not man, but God, who also hath given his holy Spirit in us. [9] But as touching the charity of brotherhood, we have no need to write to you: for yourselves have learned of God to love one another. [10] For indeed you do it towards all the brethren in all Macedonia. But we entreat you, brethren, that you abound more:

  • A suggestion:  Try substituting the "catholic" terminology for whatever is used by the particular type of Protestants with whom you are "testing" your Faith.  POSSIBLY, you might cause one to convert to the True Religion.  I think, however, you will soon come to the exact same place as you now stand.  When a devout "born-again" Protestant hears "catholicy" sounding words, he shuts down and shuts you out.  A FEW, however, might be given the grace of the Faith if they hear Truth in terms they can understand.  Sadly, MOST will act as Pilate and reject TRUTH once He is known and standing in front of him.  Why?  Easy to answer!  What would have happened to Pilate if he had refused to hand over Our Lord and publicly professed belief in Him before the crowd and the Sanhedran?  The large majority reject Truth because it means they must die to themselves, figuratively if not literally.  Most are unwilling to change their lives.  Those who are willing cannot do so except by the grace of God.  Our Lord says, "Many are called but few are chosen.". St. Paul says, "You are chosen by grace through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.". (Be careful.  Protestants use this to claim 'sola fide.'). Read, if you haven't, Rome, Sweet Rome, also, vols. I  and II of Surprised By Truth and Love in the Ruins.
Go ahead and test yourself, whether you be in the Faith, but by all means, try to bring converts back with you!  Let charity for lost souls be your primary motivation.
    I know..."Been there, done that."
    ~a very happy convert,  Frances.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.
