That's actually what I wanted to ask.

I have to write a paper on this topic and am looking for good ideas to start. I'm not asking anyone to write my paper for me, just trying to find good ideas to build on.

I have considered using some elements of Pascal's Pensees - the sections that have to do with men liking to deceive each other; also have considered some of Michael Hoffman's and Bishop Williamson's writings on political correctedness, etc but for the most part I haven't really put any of these ideas together yet in any sort of intelligible form.

When you think of the word "civility" think of civilization, so think of the manners that are needed to preserve civilization.
