  • On the first page of this thread several of you posted beautiful testimonials to Our Blessed Mother, but not one of you has lifted a finger to speak well of her before those who degrade her. http://vigilantcitizen.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=3636&pid=81821#pid81821

Why? Nobody here is shy to do a "circular firing squad" among trads, so why be shy to extoll Our Blessed Mother to Protestants and gnostics?

  • Dear Mark,

I am not sure what would be the point in throwing pearls before swine. What could I say other than I love her? I am not good at apologetics and do not like to engage Protestant insanity. I could post that if they persist in their hatred of Our Holy Mother, that they will be damned, but it would not be beneficial to them and it may cause me feelings of undue pride.

    You could say exactly that.

Perfect. You should ask her exactly that.

Because these people are not of good will.  They know what they are about, and are set firmly in their hatred of Our Lady.  I know from experience that the more you engage people such as this, the more opportunities for blasphemy you create.  They will not convert and "see the error of their ways", because they have absolutely zero interest in truth, and are possessed of a demonic hatred for Our Lady and her privileges.   The more you push and provoke, the more they will blaspheme.

If it were a face to face engagement, you could knock them on their behind and end it.  But in a forum setting, they will continue and there's nothing you can do to stop it.  The more you post, the more attention you bring to it, and the more prots will show up and join in the blasphemy.

As someone mentioned, we do not cast pearls before swine, nor do we give what is holy to dogs.

  • This thread reminds me of a trad who came to my chapel one day. He told me the night before he was at a party and at the party there was a protestant who blasphemed Our Lady. So he challenged him to a fist fight. The other man didn't want to fight him and the host of the party got very offended and everyone thought he was crazy for defending Our Lady.

I don't think it is possible for a protestant who is not devoted to Our Lady to be saved. I don't think many of them will convert either, especially now that the Church is in crisis and the Novus Ordo sect has taken over which is just as bad as the protestants. But I know that I do not know enough to debate the protestants about it. They would fling bible quotes at me and blasphemous arguments at me and I wouldn't know how to respond so all I can do is pray for them.

If you feel that intimidated about it you don't understand Our Lady enough. You should be so well acquainted with Our Lady you don't have any problems  calling them out on their shit.

  • Mark, you are doing a great job -- fighting the good fight -- with your clear and strong refutations, not to mention your powerful Catholic doctrinal assertions and the apologia for same.

Needless to say, with God we can do all things.  Thus, I strongly encourage anyone doing battle with the heretics, witches, modernists, or whoever to fervently pray that they receive the grace necessary to open their hearts and minds to the Catholic truth.

I am reminded of how St. Joan of Arc made sure to keep out and or get rid of the "camp followers" and how she did what she could to have the men get to confession before going into battle.  No doubt these actions were of no small help/significance in her gaining the "help from above" to vanquish the enemy.  We don't have the physical means to get the blogging blasphemers off the Internet nor to have fellow Catholic bloggers purify their hearts, minds, and souls with a good confession, but we can certainly pray and sacrifice for those things.

As I think you know by now, I have registered on the site in question, but I am in some sort of quagmire already because the site is not allowing me to post.  Rest assured I will keep trying!

Posting on these kinds of sites may not be for everyone, but if the Spirit leads you....... and then go for it!  Go for their heretical jugular!   As for not having super skills in Catholic apologetics, I wouldn't be too concerned as long as you know your basic Baltimore Catechism.  Keep to the basics if you have to.  Don't led them run roughshod over you with all their stupid uninformed Jack Chick anti-Catholic comic book schtick.
