  • A few hours ago I had the misfortune of being present while someone attacked the natural law, I corrected them which started an argument and an attack on our Faith of course. After responding to one of his comments as "That is a devil worshipiing freemasonic belief" a couple more came forward and the leader identified him and they as Freemasons and a master or something of said.

I pulled out my cross and scapular from underneath my shirt and to the fore for everyone to see, and defended the faith and the natural law as best I could, but I must say defending against 3 or more people with no allies was taking it's toll, and I was thinking how easy it would be to end it with a quick snap of his neck. Luckily I did not do it. They eventually ended it by saying I won when they were put on the defensive and could not keep up with my arguments that were making them look silly and contradictory, but we all know I didn't change their beliefs but hopefully an onlooker will think long and hard about who they should believe.

On the down side, I had to leave as my adrenaline was pumping and thoughts of anger were dwelling inside me.

I just got off the phone with a parishioner of mine and friend and I really needed that conversation with a real catholic after this barrage of evil.

Obviously though since I'm writing this post it was not enough, I am venting and maybe could use prayers?

    Thanks.

Thank you, I wish you were there too man, well that's not charitable, because I would not wish you to be ganged up on by mason's.

It started with someone promoting to others the "If two men want to get marriage let them" rhetoric and then I correcting them and letting them know I disagree and then went to his freemasonic comments on freedom of belief and the rights of man and democracy and who knows what else, whereby I ended up chiding him for having "Devil worshipping freemasonic beliefs" which ended up with me being surrounded by admitted mason's. The lead one who said he was a mastermason had started saying he was a lapsed catholic to which I stated I was a true catholic with the SSPX. He attacked my beliefs, I battled back, I corrected their lies, I told them the true beliefs that they had no idea about, they attacked me for being undemocratic, to which I replied I was a proud Monarchist and Tory. They attacked me for not adhereing to seperation of church and state to which I also proudly stated I did not believe in. I They attempted to tell me that the Pope says they are not enemies of the church anymore, to which I stated I have not seen any statement on this but if it was true the only thing  that would mean would be that the Pope is in material heresy. To which they attacked me for not worshiping the Pope, to which I replied was a heresy condemned by the First Vatican Council the Pope is only infallible ex cathedra and if he should tell me something that is wrong then I am to disobey.

Really it ended up with the usual things, pedophilia, they claimed they'd seen statitistics that marriages lasted longer after gαy Marriage was approved, which of course is bogus and they repeated these types of things, eventually I put them on the defensive quoting Canon law, stating the natural law, and a little out debating of their inconstistant positions, such as how they can condemn me for my beliefs while stating that I should respect theirs... to which I also replied proudly when asked how we can tell others what to do "Because we are right and you are wrong" to which they stated "Who are you to say who is right and wrong?" To which I stated "Must be a sad life with a belief that you have no truth and others could be right eh?"

    I'm probably missing many things.

But thanks for your comments and for letting me vent.

    :)

  • Congratulations on your courage in defending  the faith!

For what it is worth, I doubt that anything you said could have made a difference with the people you were talking to.

As far as I know, no pope has ever said that Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ is not an enmity with God and His Church.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • While Sigismund is 100% on it not making any difference, I think we could all agree that we baffle people when we're able to go against the norm. To actually not swallow the Kewl-Aid (as GV would say) given to everyone. To actually defend TRUTH! It feels GREAT to defend our Lord and His order! And I love hearing of when others do it. We need more people like you my good LP! You made my night- let those bastards persecute us- we're ready!

  • LordPhan,

Know that you were given the chance to practice apologetics and you may have planted seeds. Pray for these people, perhaps even have Masses offered for them. Maybe you can contribute, in some way, to their conversion.

I wish I could have so courageously defended the faith. Unfortunately, while I am aware of how certain things are heresies and what is Catholic and what is not, I am still incredibly ignorant on several matters and I don't believe I would do well in a debate on apologetics. In the future, I plan to master (or at least get much better at) Catholic apologetics so that I can quote scripture, Church Fathers, councils, etc. at leisure to defend the Faith.

Don't be angry. I think, from what you're telling us, you did very well today. I know that I could not do what you did.
For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

I should point out that this is a LESSER KNOWN argument as to why good Catholics should not watch (or own) a TV.  It's what you SHOULD BE DOING instead -- mastering the truths of the Faith, history, etc. and subjects that touch on the Faith (philosophy, details and history of modern errors, etc.)

The time we've been given should be spent TRAINING for the battle, or doing battle -- it's a war! I'm not joking. God vs. Satan, and it's a "take no prisoners" battle! There's no time to be watching mind-mush on TV. If we're not defending the Faith at the moment, we should be preparing for the next battle.

The negative arguments against TV itself are well known: waste of time, Jєωιѕн control of all TV programming, long-term damage to brain, especially young brains, powerful brainwashing goes on, etc.
