And of course the Federal Reserve just announced in the last couple of weeks the Fed Now service, and of course they tell us the wonderful news: "Banks and credit unions of all sizes can sign up and use this tool to instantly transfer money for their customers, any time of the day, on any day of the year."
And when you go to the Fed website you find out that there are fees out the wazoo! But do not fear, the Fed is here!
Fed Now
Yes, but Fed Now is an essential building block for the implementation of the digital dollar. The fees aren't important since the big banks are basically already guaranteed by the Fed. There will likely only be an acceleration towards only the biggest banks surviving, which will really only be fronts for the Fed.
What's the solution? Everyone receives pay on their bank account...
Their solution is CBDC. This might be like Russia's rollout, where you see cash, non-cash and digital. In the end, though, you will be "nudged" towards using only digital. Eventually this will be paired with digital verification and voila.
