IRELAND HAS HAS ENOUGH OF BRITISH INTERFERENCE: WE DO BETTER FOR OUR MOTHERS AND BABIESNOV. 2, 2013
The pro-life group Youth Defence has slammed the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS)  for "gross interference" in Ireland's affairs, after the abortion providers ran an advert in the Irish Times pushing for abortion to be made legal in Ireland.

Spokeswoman Clare Molloy said that the advert was a "callous and distasteful bid to drum up business in Ireland" and that, while the BPAS might try to dress it up otherwise, "the agency was in the business of killing unborn children for profit".

She said it was very likely that, since the numbers of Irish women travelling to abortion clinics were falling, BPAS was seeking to extend its business to make a bigger market available in this country.

BPAS had recently caused huge controversy in Britain for supporting gendercide - aborting babies simply because they were girls.

"In view of that support for gendercide, this advert, which claims they want to care for women, is deeply ironic," said Ms Molloy.

"Abortion is a medieval solution to a crisis pregnancy, and we can do better for our mothers and babies than abortion," she added. "Our abortion rates are falling because we're offering better solutions

Also commenting, Niamh Uí Bhriain of the Life Institute said that  BPAS clearly had a "very poor grasp of cultural and historical sensitivities in Ireland, if they think that the public will support a British abortion agency interfering in Ireland's laws."

"Most people who've contacted us have pointed out British interference in Ireland's laws is not welcome, and that we have had quite enough of that interference historically," she said.

"BPAS has a ideology which supports abortion on demand until birth - something that is repugnant to most Irish people,"  she concluded.

  • What do they mean about abortion being a "Medieval solution". The Middle Ages was not a dark age as many try and present it to be.

YD and the Life Institute use that phrase often. I am curious where it originated from.

  • Medieval obviously has negative connotations.

Have you asked them why they use it?

Medieval has negative connotations because in public schools all over the world they say that it was a horrible time and nothing good happened. The reason they say this is because back then the Church was strong and they hate the Church. No Catholic should ever use the word Medieval in a derogatory way.

Agreed. Many of us are trying to rebuild Christendom here in Ireland. I favour Guilds and all things Medieval so found their phrase unusual.

A few years ago there was an excellent presentation in London. A talk on the Church in the Middle Ages with an emphasis on the corporal works of mercy. SSPX laity organised it.

Matto is correct so I find it strange these groups use that phrase. Only a return to Traditional Catholicism will save Ireland and the people.

I have always believed abortions are being carried out North and South. Both surgical and chemical.

I emailed a pro-life group about circulating leaflet opposing contraception but never got a reply. The focus is on surgical abortion.

  • A  concern I would have is the pro-life groups will waste money on endless court challenges. The enemy is well funded and only delighted to see money wasted.

What I believe is more effective is propagating the social teachings, introduce more people to the resistance. Have more babies.

I wouldn't agree with this campaign of 'Bringing Ireland back to life'. What is needed is a return to Traditional Catholicism.

  • Well, at least she called BPAS what they are: state-sanctioned hitmen.

Ireland couldn't do a worse thing to their country, than to allow the British to further oppress and corrupt them. The brits need to mind their own business.

  • I was amazed 'Catholic Voice' newspaper actually reproduced the abortion ad in the latest edition of their newspaper. Inadvertent publicity for the baby butchers. They paid the 'Irish Times'. A mistake on the part of Catholic Voice to publish it.

If anything they should of published the parody of the ad. Youth Defence put out a parody ad.

  • From the outset, I believe they are well well-intentioned but another mistake was for a pro-life lady to write to a newspaper and in her letter she mentions the number of pro-aborts who countered. Again it gave them publicity.

Those of us involved with the Third Position have a handbook and Third Position policy is no contact with the media at all. The media is in the camp of the enemy.

The various groups and organisations have their own way of dealing with the media.
