I am withholding judgement on whether this is authentic -- maybe one of you can look it up.

It no doubt is authentic because this is how "they" think, you can read in-between the lines to see how miserable this person is although admits Democrats are in control, the enlightens ones. Their favored party.

Just reading this we know what he/she thinks of unnatural marriage.

I was just wondering Matthew what makes you so sure it was written by a women? :stare:

I'm not sure at all. If I think it's a woman, it's only because the guy in the e-mail said it was. The part that I "quoted" -- that's not me.

I smell "put on" - note where "she" says that she doesn't have statistics but is certain that Chicago is safer than "anywhere" - guns are banned / outlawed in Chicago but the shootings are happening several times per night.

Then there was the line about government giving us permission - rarely is it phrased that way.

I could point out other aspects that seem to be a prank but won't... LOL!

However, as Myrna said, there are plenty of people who think exactly as this person so it's a bummer.

Whether or not this particular piece is satire or is authentic, I don't know.

What I do know is a number of people (I used to work with a lot of them when I was in the army working in a civilian office) who think just like this and have the same level of intelligence and familiarity with current events as was exhibited here. The only thing I would say is that the paper's editor must have corrected all the spelling errors that would have been in the original letter.

As for believing Chicago is safe than almost anywhere, please tell me, if you don't live in the greater Chicago area or watch Fox News, when did you ever hear about the several murders every day in Chicago? You probably haven't. I live just a couple of hours south of Chicago and I never hear about the gun violence in Chicago on any local or network stations.

S/he is a good speller. Most people who are ignorant are not good spellers. Editorial pieces I have read use [sic] to denote misspellings in the original. I smell a set-up, written to stir up people.
