Indeed. I remembered, but as I recall, most of his (Vialdi) music was not explicitly Catholic or worship music.
True. He does have a good deal of sacred works though. Johann Joseph Fux (he wrote only sacred music after the death of his wife) and Jan Dismas Zelenka (a devout, Jesuit educated Catholic, remained celibate his entire life) have an enormous amount of Catholic sacred music, but unfortunately, most of it remains unperformed and unrecorded.
I prefer to listen to Gregorian chant myself, but occasionally, I feel the urge to listen to something a little more exciting/dramatic. Even then, I usually only listen to Sacred Music by Catholic composers, occasionally wandering outside of the realm of vocal music to listen to Baroque instrumental music.
