The subject of Tobacco has been brought up in relation to this topic-- allegations that Popes Pius IX and X smoked and the like.

Most are probably not aware that the Tobacco industry in 19th Century Italy was headed by Adriano Lemmi-- the successor to Mazzini and pal of Al Pike.

Tobacco is a masonic drug that has been frowned upon by at least 2 Popes. I 'highly' suspect that the rumors of the various Popes partaking in this drug are just that-- nasty masonic crap.

It should be noted that our Gladius has endorsed the use of the nasty tobacco drug which one Pope even proclaimed as a sin worth of ex-communication and another agreed.

No Pope, Council, INQ or the Bible has condemned MJ.

Indeed. I remembered, but as I recall, most of his (Vialdi) music was not explicitly Catholic or worship music.

True. He does have a good deal of sacred works though. Johann Joseph Fux (he wrote only sacred music after the death of his wife) and Jan Dismas Zelenka (a devout, Jesuit educated Catholic, remained celibate his entire life) have an enormous amount of Catholic sacred music, but unfortunately, most of it remains unperformed and unrecorded.

I prefer to listen to Gregorian chant myself, but occasionally, I feel the urge to listen to something a little more exciting/dramatic. Even then, I usually only listen to Sacred Music by Catholic composers, occasionally wandering outside of the realm of vocal music to listen to Baroque instrumental music.

You see though, this music isn't going to help you break any dependence you have on marijuana. If any think it will make you want to continue smoking marijuana since it fosters weed culture.

After reviewing this topic I find it ironic to be accused of Sola Scriptura( which like Cavour's Free Church In A Free State and 'sede vacantism' doesn't really exist) simply for interpreting the words of the Bible literally.

if used occasionally and with moderation(one or two puffs) how is it any different than smoking a cigarette or drinking a beer/wine.

IMHO, it is not a sin like using a hallucinogen (unless it is a powerful grade) because a hallucinogen is a doorway to the spiritual world outside the protection of the Holy Spirit, but I think marijuana is a lot like beer or wine, which must be used carefully.

The question of obeying the law is the more important side. If you consider that having a drug arrest record, even a minor one, will affect you for the rest of your life, then it would be a sin like "gluttony", in which one wrecks one's health for the sake of appetite.

Nowadays even menial jobs are subject to complete background checks, so are rental applications and scholarship applications, and these will turn up even traffic tickets. It would not be good stewardship to wreck your future for the sake of a minor relaxation that you could easily get in some law-abiding way.

Yea after much thinking on it i dont think is a right choice even if it isnt sinful (but it is). Now adays there is really a "low" grade like in the 70's. Everything if genetically altered to make it stronger. Furthermore, it is usually strong and leads you out the spiritual world. I also thought about the people who I knew were users and they werent very spritual and made bad decisions in other areas of life....hence a bad influence on me. I stay away from it and am now trying to help someone else get away from it.

P.S. I was also happy to hear that you are regularly saying the Rosary. Remember the Rosary is a weapon. You should carry a blessed Rosary with you at all times. Also consider consider being enrolled in the Confraternity of the Brown Scapular.

The Rosary and the Scapular were specifically requested by the Virgin when she appeared at Fatima in 1917.
