The figure of $96,000 a year is ridiculous of course.  I've heard feminists speak of women being paid for their work in the home, which shows that this tabulation of how much a homemaker is "worth" is dangerous.

The most comical is the representation of the wife as a "Private Chef" and the apportioning of $52,000 for cooking dinner every day.  This society is all about heaping undue flattery on women.

Of course homemaking is not as uneconomical as people say.  The tendency for women to work outside the home has little to do with practical economy and has much more to do with vanity and relative independence from men.
