  • Just wondering how isolated the average Trad is.

I was going to put in elements like "There would be more, but relatives choose another chapel nearby" and "There would be more, if this or that person hadn't moved." but that would just over-complicate the poll.

For me, it's just my immediate family. My family is Trad, but so far away they might as well live on the Moon.

And, interestingly, my decision to go to weekly Mass at an independent chapel instead of the local SSPX chapel didn't decrease my "go to Mass with family" count at all.

So about the only way for some Trads to become less isolated -- make sure your own family is as big as possible! hahaha But not everyone has that choice. First of all, you have to be married! And even that seems like quite an obstacle for some Trads today. Then it takes quite a while for a family to grow to "large" size. And, of course, not everyone has the same fertility, health, etc.

It's a real shame how spread out and isolated many Trads are.

  • Me, one of my two Brothers', My Uncle and  Aunt go to the same Traditional Catholic Church.

We no longer have family gatherings on this side of the family.

  • Would me, my wife, and four children count as 6?  One other child is a nun at Mount St. Michael's so she doesn't attend Mass with us.  As for any other relative, none live within 1,000 miles of us.

  • Just me but that's because I'm attending the SSPX chapel within maybe 5 blocks of my college dorm.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...
