    1. No
    2. Get a Trad Catholic (Douay-Rheims) Bible. Last time I checked, the Hebrew name of this particular prophet/book was rendered Osee in the DRB.
    Hosea is the Protty rendition.

Yes, and from the time when the continual sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination unto desolation shall be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred ninety days (Dan 12:11).

Men are not bound, or able to read hearts; but when they see that someone is a heretic by his external works, they judge him to be a heretic pure and simple ... Jerome points this out. (St. Robert Bellarmine)

Is the 1,290 days a different timespan than the current 24 hour day multiplied by 1,290? Some say the timespans mentioned in the Old Testament are different than today.

  • So if we go to confession at the end of the world it wouldn't be valid?

  • I see my comment was passed over in silence.

Well? Do we have a protty contingent on CathInfo now, or what? Why are we using the protestant St. James Bible names for books of Holy Scripture on a Trad Catholic forum?

  • Is there a priest whom you can consult with about your anxieties?
Agonising here about them is not doing you good as you seem to be ignoring any good advice you may be given.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • I would think not.
A day in Genesis is spoken something like this:

And he called the light Day, and the darkness Night; and there was evening and morning one day.
    ....
[8] And God called the firmament, Heaven; and the evening and morning were the second day.
    And so on...
I can’t see any reason why a day then isn’t a day now.

Btw, the bible refers to the period of 3&1/2 years a few times. Half of Seven (being the perfect number)

Seven deacons, 7 churches, seven days in a week, my pennyworth.

Bible verses mentioning three and a half years
    https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Three-And-A-Half-Years

Probably a protestant site but it’s a list of sorts

Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • If this is true, they've left it out of the catechism and all Catholic teaching. But it seems to be clear in the bible. Sorry I called the book by a Protestant name but someone quoted in on a YouTube comment and I copied
