Patholigical Tire-kicking - symptom of modern world

I understand that human misery includes depression and other evils, and that Traditional Catholics aren't exempt from all of those evils.

However, just having God in your life should prevent CERTAIN pathological and compulsive behaviors.

For example -- addiction to being waited on, being the master, "asking the questions" which is also a position of power -- I'm talking about being a PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMER. Have you ever seen a cop or other captor say, "I'll ask the questions!" Well, customers are always in that position. So apparently "asking the questions" is a position of power.

I am speaking about tire-kicking and window shopping when you have no intention of buying. Even when the item is FREE! It's like their lives are so empty, so pathetic, that they crave the few seconds of ATTENTION they steal from you.

A recent email exchange, talking about a FREE kitten:

Customer: Do you still have the kitten:
(10 minutes elapses)
Me: Yes. When can you come over?
(silence until the end of the world ensues)

WHY DID THEY WRITE TO ME? The kitten is free. I gave them an answer in the affirmative, and in a timely manner -- almost immediately. If they were interested, why not move to the CONSUMMATION phase, i.e, picking the free item up?

But no, they probably suffer from depression, are on several medications, and crave human attention and affection in any form they can get it.

Some people need to find God. Then they'll never be empty and alone.

It's weird - some people seem to enjoy browsing endlessly while never actually buying anything. You probably disappointed them with how direct you were. I bet if you were selling it, they'd have haggled with you for however long before finally going AWOL when a price was finally agreed upon.

Any sites like Craigslist and whatever else are full of those types.
