  • I really hate this crap but I will show it just to show how vile this movement was. Here we go with Woodstock values at their finest brought to you by "the finest young generation we have ever produced!"

    WARNING: PG-13 material

The Zombies- Time of the Season (this video is obviously pornographic and with the guys taking off their shirts too is obviously also supporting closet sodomy along with obviously supporting sex)

Mamas and the Papas- California Dreamin' (the song really freaks me out, especially the Eastern/spirutualist pycho-drug induced dancing, you also have to laugh at them singing about going to a Church and praying; "God please send more sex n' drugs my way")

Mamas and the Papas- Monday, Monday (ah yes the usual hippie cliche' of hating to work, instead wanting to be a bunch of lazy bums)

Knock Three Times- Tony Orlando and Dawn (ah yes another sex-filled song filled with the usual hippie garb)

In the Summertime- Mungo Jerry (this song is just stupid haha but again supports the hippie lifestyle of being a bunch of lazy bums sitting around all day)

Sugar, Sugar- The Archies (a song that secretly supports sex within its lyrics)

Chevy Van- Sammy Johns (the song is pretty straightforward and is a song about a guy having sex with a girl in his chevy van)

Stoned Love- (support of marijauna, pacifism, with singers in African tribal garb)

Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign-Five Man Electrical Band (a song that is against private property and supports hippie values)

Imagine- John Lennon (this song is an international socialist song wanting an end of religion, wars, national borders, etc.)

  • Thumbs up from me for hippie hatred.

And now I trust Roscoe will favor us with the opposing viewpoint, punctuated by a few "pot smoking" emoticons...

  • Haha I made this thread to incite anger in roscoe and other drug-supportive hippie leftovers. :smirk:

The only good music is folk music, classical music, and military music.

Then I pray you will make a sincere confession before you receive Our Blessed Lord in Holy Communion. If you don't you are adding even more coals to the fire. :devil2:

Not really. There is nothing wrong with angering vile people, especially political opponents. I am no pacifist.

  • Trad Guy, these are the words of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ who went to the Cross and died an ignominious death to allow us to enter into His Kingdom. Unless we take Him at His Word we will not be saved.

    Matthew 5: 43-45

    Quote
You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy.  But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.

If we want to be happy in this life and in the next we must let go of all hatred. It is very hard to do, but not impossible, with God's grace and  prayer from your friends here on CathInfo.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

Not really. There is nothing wrong with angering vile people, especially political religious opponents. I am no pacifist.

    Religion before politics.  Always.

    The Psalmist:

"Have I not hated them, O Lord, that hated thee: and pine away because of thy enemies? [22] I have hated them with a perfect hatred: and they are become enemies to me."

Hatred, properly understood in this sense as motivated by a holy zeal for the law of God (rather than personal or even political reasons) is laudable against the enemies of God, inasmuch as they are enemies of God.

Which is generally the case with liberals, but citing political reasons is disordered.

Of course, we are still called by and obliged to caritas, which is God's love for others.  Love and hate, properly applied, are not contradictory and often co-exist.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • We must master the art of hating the sin, but not the sinner. There is a healthy type of hatred as well as a sinful kind of love.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • Apparently there are some who presume that  :smoke-pot: & hippies must necessarily go together.

I hate to break it to these deceived but it is not true.  :reporter:

The big picture for Catholics.  In fact, it's religion before all else. Always.
