In my school they also teach evolution and use examples such as moths dying out and the black moths surviving because of the environment favouring them or how bacteria or creatures born with "immunity survive a mass extinction".
This issue of evolution is a seperate issue. Because this theory is so widely diffused yoiu would be uneducated to not be familiar with it. You don't have to express belief in it if you really do nopt believe in it but if you are unfamiliar with this theory then you would be uneducated.
Newer research on the "black moths" in London were black because they were coasted with industrial waste.
Also, how does familiarity with widely-believed deceptions result in "education"?
Whether they are coated with soot or they survived through some form of natural selection in order to be educated one needs to be aware of the theory of evolution. It doesn't mean that anyone has to believe in it.
