Title: Heathens Make Message Board Rule Exceptions for Traditional Catholics.
Post by: Truth is Eternal on September 20, 2010, 06:53:04 PM
On a certain Republican message board I was on in the faith and beliefs area, people are encouraged to not view the threads in this area if they are easily offended.

Even though I did not break any board rules, I got banned for seven days.

Do heathens have special unwritten rules for Traditional Catholics that when they can't debate us they can just get rid of us.

Here was the title of my thread.

Quote
There is No Salvation Outside the Catholic Church . Refuting Baptism of Desire.

Is there a chance they did not like me posting Traditional Catholic prayers?

Are you a glutton for punishment?  Why do you even waste your time there?

Good riddance to bad rubbish.  They did you a favor.

I am always a gltton for punishment.

They didn't like it when I told them this below.

I just went to the BibleGateway.com  and looked up a word in the protestant king james version of the HOLY BIBLE to find out how many times it is written. Check out how many times the word priest shows up in the HOLY BIBLE then look up how many times other denominations spiritual leaders show up in the HOLY BIBLE .

I then showed them this below.

Quote
The words priest-priests show up 846 times in the king james version of the HOLY BIBLE.

They can't let evidence stand in the way of Heretical Beliefs.

I will try to behave.  :incense:

Any public message board you post about or use Catholic morality on, will very probably ban you. Or at the very least, you will get thoroughly flame-roasted by a horde of angry resident atheists.

Fastest I was ever banned for using or expressing Catholic morality online was about two days after joining.

I am doing pretty good then. I lasted about two weeks posting Traditional Catholic doctrine.

In a week when I am allowed to post again I am supposed to behave even though they didn't tell me what I did wrong.

Nevermind heathens. Liberal Catholics, Neo-Catholics, Neo-Trads, etc. have special unwritten rules for Traditional Catholics that when they can't debate us they can just get rid of us.

Cath Info is the only Catholic Forum I know of on the internet where one can engage in legitimate debate, questioning, discussions, etc. without having motives called into question or being banned, suspended, chastised, warned, etc. at the moderator's whim.

Every other board I can think of is run like a Muslim dictatorship. Some of them revel in it. Matthew is the only Catholic forum owner I know of who actually (gasp) allows questions, debate, discussion, etc. A novel Catholic idea. Catholics are not afraid to ask questions and explore ideas.

I'm not saying this to pick on any other one particular forum either. I've pretty much tried them all and they all fit the above description with the sole exception of Cath Info. It really is amazing.

I think a site owner/ moderator, to really be a benefit to the members, has to keep up with his/her spiritual life and especially work on the virtue of humility. It is so easy on this board, in this virtual world, to treat other Catholics like crap, just as a member much less a moderator. As a moderator, you then have the added ability to "banish" someone from sight who doesn't agree with you or who may be raising legitimate questions, you really don't want to know the answer to, or else they are right and you know it, but your pride wants to "win" at all costs. It is so easy to then tell them off, ridicule them, hit the ban button and imagine that they (and their disturbing ideas) vanish into the ether.

I think all of us here should pray for Matthew. Something few members of these boards do is pray for the owners. They need it. I've seen so many boards go down the drain as the mods become dictators/ bullies/ un-Christian. The board then turns into a useless caricature of serious Catholic discussion that only leads to sloth and wrath.

Anyway, my two cents.

It would seem so, among English speaking forums.

All the other Catholic forums I'm aware of seem to exemplify the dangers that arise when cliqueishness and cultish thinking takes over.  And of course, the liberalism and worldly thinking of self-important forum owners and posters.

What did you expect?

Many good traditional Catholics would also object to that title.
