  • Oct. 31st is the date of my daughter's birth. God gave me an out right out of the box. I must admit that as a Novus Ordinarian 17 yrs ago I did not know Halloween was evil. Heck, I only thought saying "Outside of the Church there is no hope for Salvation was evil!!! :roll-laugh2:"
So, when God set me on the right track and friends and relatives asked, I was always busy with a birthday party no time to celebrate the Day of Satan  I would answer.
In my area people have been decorating for weeks.

  • They put up Halloween stuff at the stores at the beginning of September or earlier. As if it takes 8 weeks to buy a couple bags of candy and/or a costume...

But what's really annoying is seeing Christmas merchandise the 1st week of September...that's just sick.

They WANT to make people deathly sick of Christmas long before Dec. 25 gets here. That's why some people throw their (real) Christmas tree out on the morning of Dec. 26.

On Dec. 26th, it's supposed to be just BEGINNING, not ending!

  • Have you noticed how much more gruesome the whole thing has become. I was in Walgreen's yesterday and YIKES! Some roller rink we pass on the way to Mass has a sign touting a Haunted Mansion/Hotel Massacre. I guess since these kids walk around playing the most Satanic Nintendo games they would have to go some to entice them in.

  • I know I'm nitpicking, but Nintendo was -- in general -- very kid friendly.

You didn't have violent, realistic, adult-themed games until Playstation came out (happened to be the first popular CD-based system -- plenty of storage space for voices, video clips, etc.)

You didn't have "Grand Theft Auto" and other horrible games until Playstation and Microsoft's XBox.

Early 80's Atari games were hardly satanic as well -- because it's hard to be satanic with blocky graphics, 16 colors, and not much storage space for things like video/voices.

If only kids were still playing Nintendo systems instead of the modern ones -- they were rather quaint.

  • It's not how gruesome Halloween has become -- it's how immodest!

If you were going to participate in Halloween, you'd better be good at making your own costumes! And the boys better stay at home, lest they sin by looking at scantily clad young ladies.

It's pretty sad when ladies have to have a good "figure" in order to wear a costume. Ladies shouldn't have to catch up on their leg shaving in order to wear a halloween costume!

Why are ALL the costumes for ladies a form of prostitute, or other mini-skirt wearer?

You'll love the irony -- only the "Angel of Darkness" and the "Witch" are dressed modestly.

Isn't that what Satan is all about? A complete reversal of order?

Warning -- Catalog-level immodesty follows if you click on the link.

  • True enough. I played Pacman and Centipede at the laundry mat ages ago. And the costumes even for little girls would make a prostitute from past decades blush. I throw those ads that come in the mail away A.S.A.P. so my sons do not see them.

  • Dont you think that the grusomness of the whole thing would be a good meditation on ones own end? Just eliminate the immodest costumes and silly kiddy costumes and what do you have left but a portrait of hell for you to meditate on?

I suppose you want us Latinos to stop dressing up as skeletons on Day of the Dead as well, huh?

  • I think we should all say a prayer for the victims of the bloodthirsty, gruesome rituals that will take place this Halloween especially. In order to get Barky elected , the various witches and shamans will outdo themselves.

  • I think that it is more appropriate to view halloween along the Catholic lines that it originated from - it's a good time to read the mass of the dead and the translation of the dies irae and pray for the departed.  I really don't understand though why people "on the outside" celebrate holy days at all though - what is the point of celebrating all of their inane holidays when the true focus of it is completely gone - Halloween without praying for holy souls, Christmas without Christ, Easter relegated to bunny rabbits and eggs.  I just don't understand why people bother with spending all the money and all the hype for a fleeting feel good day.  Pointless, totally pointless, but I guess that is just a reflection of their entire lives.

  • Another reminder:

The Eve of All Hallows (AKA Hallow'een) (AKA The vigil of the All Saints Day feast) is a day of fasting and abstinence, not indulging on chocolate and candy. A day of prayer, preparation, and remembrance, not trick or treating or watching horror movies with murder, guts, and zombies eating each others brains out. There is the Catholic way to celebrate All Hallows Eve, and then there's the Secularist, Satanist, and Pagan way to celebrate it. Celebrate it the Catholic way.

  • Acc to Francis McNutt, there never were any Chritmas trees in Rome until some converted Protestants brought them in the early 20th Century.

Thanks for the reminder roscoe! We should pray alot today and tonight since the shamans and satanists will have a power boost today.

And in retribution for sacriliges commited today, pull off a satanic logo from one of your household items and burn it!

Thats another thing... we'll have to make reparation for all of the sacriliges that will be commited today!

  • Unfortunately, judging by other "Catholic" forums I glanced at, many so-called Catholics didn't even observe All Hallows Eve, but instead celebrated Samhain and the Protestant/Secularist version of Hallow'een. I even see some people denying the fact that today (All Saints Day) is a Holy Day of Obligation.
