  • Chesterton made a very wise statement.  How true it is!  We are traditional, and I still see women wearing low cut, here and there and they are in their late 60's!  Hm?  I see a family where no matter what is said about the dress code, well, I guess they think it does not apply to them.  One priest made a point.  When you come to Mass, you are before the King, do you choose to wear jeans?  Dress as though you would in your coffin. A suit? A pretty dress?

Some people wear pajamas.  Seriously.  That example might not produce the best outcome  :laugh1:

  • Really, is this a problem at Society chapels?  At my independent chapel no one would wear jeans or anything that problematic at Mass.  I guess outside in daily life is a different discussion, but that shocks me that a longtime trad wouldn't dress properly for Mass.

  • I know I had a laugh with King Tut, but it is serious to me.  I am really upset when I see people take no time to dress properly.  There is no need for this behavior. Most trads have extra clothes hanging up to be used for those who don't dress properly.  And thrift store have clothing as low as 25 cents to a $1.  Pajamas is a lazy mans/womans way out!

St. Mary's Assumption, in St. Louis, MO.  SSPX Chapel.  In many months, I've only seen one (1) woman wearing trousers.

Was she a visitor?  As people come over from the N.O. it takes a bit to acclimate to trad customs.

  • Custom?  It is a custom in the NO.  For the traditionalist it is because God is truly present! Dress accordingly.
