The Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization has published a pastoral guide to the Sacrament of Reconciliation as “24 Hours for the Lord” initiative approaches.

In his bull of indiction for the jubilee year of mercy, Pope Francis called upon all dioceses to offer extended times for confessions on March 4 and 5.

The pastoral guide includes the teaching of the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church on the sacrament, suggestions for preparing for the sacrament, texts from saints and popes, and reflections by G. K. Chesterton and Leah Darrow, a former model.
