Why do people start these threads anyway, if the are not real?  Is there some sort of secret message being passed back and fourth?  I'm asking for a friend. ::)

I'd try toy rotation. Have bins with activities that are not normally available for her, but only during "special" times. For example, "you get to play with 1 bin only while I mop the floor." The activity is somehow more appealing when they only get to do it "when allowed".

Google "busy boxes" and you'll have to skim for age-appropriate ideas as many of them are geared for ages 1-2.

My 242-month-old will be home from college in a couple weeks.
Joke now, but you know you'll be thinking about this thread tomorrow when it's just you and our 62-month-old hanging out for 4 hours. :smirk:

33 months? Red flag. This isn't a baby. This is a small human who knows how to manipulate even more than you realize. She's got you counting months still when she's almost three.

Steel yourself. The only way out is through. If you think a 33 month old crying for attention is bad, wait til it's a 56 month old. You can't put it off any longer unless you want to be one of those moms who can't take their 60 month old to get groceries because she'll melt down in the middle of the aisle screaming for candy and throwing things. That's what's next. Fix it now while you can.

This made me laugh out loud. :laugh1:

I was busy in the kitchen on Sunday and my husband spent a couple hours with our 7 year old daughter. When she left the room for something, he came in with a heavy sigh and said, “Does she EVER stop talking?” :jester:
