  • Dear Cassini,
Thank you for posting this. It is most beautiful. The music remided me of how you must miss your dear wife and how you must look forward to being united with her in the future. It brought tears to my eyes.
    God bless you!
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

God bless you Nadir, that is exactly the thoughts that ran through my mind as I looked and listened to the video that reflected everything beautiful in God's Creation. Like most of my age, we have all lost grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings, but the greatest loss of all is a beloved wife or husband. I have come to learn that the greatest comfort of all now lies in our Catholic faith, the hope we may some time be joined again in blessed happiness for all eternity. If Jesus, Mary and Joseph were joined again in heaven, then there is hope it may happen for us also. But more than that, for hope of such a reunion will enhance your faith, your prayers, and the absolute need to avoid sin. I remember reading that we must not blame God for taking a loved one away, but thank Him for the things that we had. Again, thank you Nadir for remembering my Liz who loved her faith and died with all the sacraments. One last thing, before she dies, Liz asked a son to make sure a Mass would be said for her. Such was he sharing of the faith with others, I received 85 Mass cards from friends. Only the other day, an elderly lady passed me at Mass and said 'I pray for you as your wife prayed for me years ago when I was not well. I recovered and now want to pay her back.'

  • This also reminds me of something that Bishop Williamson said, namely, that a big reason for the increase in atheism has to do with people having become disconnected from nature.  People live and work in these artificial environments in modern times.  But if you experience nature, you absolutely must conclude that there's Intelligent Design at work there.  These animals just didn't randomly evolve these very complex, often organized, behaviors.  Human beings, with all their "intelligence", can't explain some of the simplest behavior of various insects or even, at times, single-celled organisms, much less could random processes account for them.

  • I was just thinking about this today.

The old (bad willed) objection: "If God exists, why does He go out of His way to conceal His existence?"

Um... how about the intricate, genius, brilliant designs obvious to any IMPARTIAL observer? And when you get into the high-tech modern age, it should be even MORE obvious, with the "mini universe" that is the inside of a cell, DNA, etc.

It's almost like stupidity like "molecules to man" evolution could *only* happen at the MID BRAIN point. Less advanced peoples are impressed by every force of nature and conclude there is a God (or gods). Highly advanced science concludes that DNA is information and language, no new language/information can be randomly created, the cell is too complex, random chance evolution is mathematically impossible, etc.

But in Darwin's era -- we were just "smart" enough to be dangerous. Just smart enough to be deceived by foolish errors of the enemy.

Like the 3 year old who is too old to be "blissfully in her own world" like a baby and go along with whatever -- but not developed enough like a 5 year old to enjoy something like, say, being ankle-deep in the shallow water on the beach. We just experienced this a few days ago. Our 3 year old wanted no part of it, even seeing her "twin" (she considers herself absolutely equal to him all the rest of the time) 5 year old brother having the time of his life.
