Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia declare state of emergency due to a gas shortage blamed on a broken pipeline.

In North Carolina: 93 octane (not the cheap stuff) at Costco today (9/17/16) $2.35 per gallon. The cheap stuff: $1.99 per gallon. Regular gas stations: about 10 cents more per gallon.

It's about $2.70 per gallon for 87 octane in California, steady for the past 3-4 weeks.
I know some stations that are charging over $3, and some are over $4, like in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Malibu. I heard of one station with $6 gas, but I don't know anyone who pays that much. I went there one day about 25 years ago and came face-to-face with Jimmy Stewart, who was getting his car fixed. He did not lower his eyes to make eye contact. He seemed about 6'-4" tall so everyone else rather looked up to him, so to speak.

So when you complain about prices a dollar less than what is normal here, it's a bit odd for us.

Californians also make much more on average than North Carolinian's so it is probably even in the wash.

He'd probably be dead if he lived in NOLA, the crime rate there is off the charts.

Maybe they can get some help from the east coast suppliers.

I just texted my friend whose brothers have fuel truck. Hopefully, they will get the message.

There has apparently been another "pipeline event." Already prices are starting to rise and it looks like there may be shortages on the horizon over here.
