Doe anyone remember on this forum a few years ago when there was the "ignore" function where there was a little "hide" button next to every poster's name on each of their posts and you could click it to "hide" all of their posts and all of their posts would become invisible. And the fun part was that the forum kept track of this and under everyone's name on each of their posts it said "ignored by" X number of people. And people would get upset when they would ignored because although the individual ignore was anonymous, the amount of ignores each person had was public so one could say, look Caminus, you are such a fool, it is no wonder you are ignored by 12 people while I, Matto am ignored by no one. People want to read what I have to say, but you are unwanted. And then people would be spiteful and keep other posters on ignore so that they would be stigmatized, but when they saw a post by them they would quickly un-ignore them, read their post, and then immediately put them back on ignore to make them seem unpopular. It was like how some posters today worry ab out down-votes and people accuse others of stalking them and down-voting all their posts, most commonly, Croix. Perhaps we should bring the "ignore" function back. I think you can still hide someone's posts, but the button is not next to everyone's name and the fun part, the "ignore" counter under every post is no longer there. On SD they do not have up and down votes. They only have up-votes called "Thanks" which are public. I don't know which way is better. I like the ability to show my pleasure and displeasure of other posters, but sometimes it does show that some of us are childlike in a bad way.
