  • Members,

A new fundraising opportunity has presented itself involving the $5.5 billion Visa/Mastercard class action settlement.  If you own a business, or know a business owner, in operation between the years 2004-2019 and accepted Visa/MC, the business may qualify to receive compensation for being overcharged on credit card processing fees.  My company is authorized by the claims administrator to file claims on behalf of businesses.

I will donate a portion of the proceeds to SSPX chapels or schools for any business you refer.  Qualified businesses should go to www.mycardclaim.com and enter their business details.  The business does not need to be currently in operation.

Please email info@mycardclaim.com with the name of the business that you referred as well as the name of your chapel for record keeping purposes.  Any questions can be emailed to the same address.  The deadline to submit a claim is Feb. 4, 2025 so time is of the essence.

Precisely how much of the proceeds will you donate?

Why should I pay you a fee, out of which you might donate a token amount to the SSPX, when I can file a claim for free, and donate the entirety of the settlement payment to the group of my choice?

Can anyone else file a claim for me?

Some companies may offer to help you file your Claim Form in exchange for a portion of your recovery from the settlement. While you may choose to use such companies, you should know that you can file with the Class Administrator on your own, free of charge. Additionally, you are entitled to contact the Class Administrator or Rule 23(b)(3) Class Counsel for assistance with understanding and filing your Claim Form — again, at no cost to you. Prior orders of the Court regarding third-party claims filing companies are available for review here.

  • By all means feel free to do that if you so desire. As for me, this is my business and I have a large family to support.  Like with a lot of services you can either hire someone or DIY

  • Caminus, why don't you come back to CathInfo for discussions, as well as advertising? You might even get better results on the advertising if you were an active member, rather than an unknown, drive-by, post-and-run advertising poster.

You may not realize that CathInfo has an almost completely different membership than when you were last here.

Most current CathInfo members don't even know who Caminus is.

It says you were last active in April 2014. A lot has happened on CathInfo during the past almost 11 years.

  • I didn't realize my account was still available.  Posting as Caminus now.  I have some very fond memories of debates here.  I was more heat than light though.  Hopefully a little wiser now.
