Yes. Affairs often start out emotional only -- especially for the woman. Think about it: women naturally crave attention. When a man is giving them copious amounts of attention, care, kindness -- that's as alluring for a woman as a scantily clad woman is to a man. Men and women are different. They operate differently.
And co-workers are forced to spend 8 hours every day together. How can a woman's husband compete with that? He has to work a job -- somewhere outside the home, where his wife is not. But that woman's "work husband" (modern term) or close male friend at work, gives her up to 8 hours of attention a day.
As a wise man once said, "if it weren't for the fact that men & women can successfully produce offspring together, a strong case could be made that men and women are 2 different species."
"Men and women are basically equal" indeed! Far from it.
