  • For me, the First Friday Masses should be rather easy, as I pass both a CMRI and SSPX chapel on the way home. However, getting to first saturday Masses would be more of a challenge, but I find myself needing to do them, as per our Lady's request.

Has anyone here done the devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus or the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

  • I have but it took years.  Something impossible always came up-a serious family obligation, illness, weather...missed confession..

I will never forget the day I finally did my 5 First Saturdays. I was so ecstatic that I almost forgot to recite the Rosary.  I remembered  to at about a quarter to 12 midnight, and about had a heart attack.

With dogged determination my wife and I made them both in one year.  We did not do them at the same time, however.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • I never knew what the first friday and first saturday were for sure until we                           were back to being traditional in 1996.  I don't count, I just go whenever I can, like today and yesterday.  Very few people come, which is sad. If there is ever a time that we need it for us and the world issues, conversions, we certainly should try.

  • As regards the First Saturday devotion, Sr. Lucia specifically mentioned the problem some people have with being unable to fulfill all its obligations on Saturday.  Our Lord told her that the devotion can be transferred to Sunday instead only you must get permission from a priest.  Everything else is the same, eight days before or after for confession, etc.

My conscience compels me to make this disclaimer lest God judges me partly culpable for the errors and heresy promoted on this forum... For the record I support neither Sedevacantism or the SSPX.  I do not define myself as either a traditionalist or Novus
