  • A person I dearly love thinks the entire Catholic church is an evil cult, and I laugh about it because I know that his opinion is based in some semblance of reality, since he is looking from the outside at some of the problems we Catholics are fighting from the inside.

I mention him only as one example of friendships with others who do not share the same beliefs, and I could just as easily give examples of Catholics close to me who do and say things that are very disturbing.

Lots of people in this forum seem to be going to great lengths to find places to assist at the Mass in fellowship with their own beliefs and that is a big hardship, impossible for many.

Therefore, in order to remain in some semblance of fellowship with other Catholics, we must make do with the community we have around us.

Have we lost the ability to obey the commandment to "Love One Another", which after all is not the same thing as if it were a commandment to "Agree With One Another"?

What does it mean to "love our enemies", which is even harder than "love one another"?
