BREAKING: FBI sought SSPX chapel leadership to “inform on parishioners” in VA

In an April 10 Press Release, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced that his committee has subpoenaed the FBI for docuмents relating the FBI’s move to infiltrate Latin Mass communities in search of any “radical extremism” that could potentially signal domestic terrorism.
Vatican journalist, Diane Montagna tweeted out the latest on the FBI’s efforts to weaponize the Southern Poverty Law Center’s decades-old witch hunt against Latin Mass Catholics:
House Judiciary Committee Chairman @Jim_Jordan confirms FBI planned to “engage in outreach to leadership” of SSPX chapels in Richmond area “to sensitize these congregations to warning signs of radicalization & to enlist their assistance to serve as suspicious activity tripwires.”

BACKGROUND:

On February 16, 2023, Chairman Jordan and Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) sought information from the FBI relating to a January 23, 2023 “domain perspective” docuмent generated by the Richmond Field Office entitled “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical-Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities.” After receiving no response, the Committee reiterated its request in a subsequent letter dated March 20, 2023. On March 23, 2023, the FBI produced a substandard and partial response consisting of only 18 pages—many with significant redactions of “personally identifiable information” or “specific non-public information about [FBI] investigations, sources, and methods” that prevents the Committee from fully assessing the content and context of the docuмents and obtaining information requested from the Bureau.
NEW INFORMATION:

It is apparent that the FBI, relying on information derived from at least one undercover employee, sought to use local religious organizations as “new avenues for tripwire and source development.” For example, in a section of a January 23, 2023, domain perspective docuмent entitled “Opportunities,” the FBI wrote:
“In addition to [redaction], engage in outreach to the leadership of other [Society of Saint Pius X] chapels in the FBI Richmond [area of responsibility] to sensitize these congregations to the warning signs of radicalization and to enlist their assistance to serve as suspicious activity tripwires.
According to Chairman Jordan, the FBI planned to engage in outreach with the leadership of certain SSPX chapels in Virginia as potential “sources to monitor and report on their parishioners”.

Is it being assumed that the chapel prior (priest) at the SSPX chapel in Virgina is guilty of collusion with the FBI? If so, where is the proof of that?

I didn’t get that from the article, but since the SSPX has said nothing at all regarding being approached for that purpose, those familiar with the Society’s zeal to maintain a good public image, it’s recent cooperation with secular authorities’ intrusion into the spiritual domain during COVID19, the ongoing prosecution and investigations related to pedophilia, etc, and any reasonable person would wonder how they responded.

But that’s a long way from alleging collusion (which at this point would be the textbook definition of rash judgment).

Well, glad to see that you aren't alleging that the SSPX prior in Virginia is guilty of collusion; at least not yet.

And regards to the secular authorities' intrusion during covid, are you aware that in some areas of the world during the supposed Covid "Crisis", that the SSPX were the only ones to continue to offer the True Mass? I don't recall that any SSPX chapels were closed down during Covid, but maybe I'm wrong about that. And that in many areas, masks weren't mandatory at SSPX chapels? Despite the stance of the leadership of the SSPX during Covid, at least there was still access to the sacraments at that time.

In Saint Marys, Fr. Wagner (the District Superior at that time) ordered Fr. Rutledge to close the Chapel and not offer public Mass (not even secret Masses for the faithful). What made the situation even worse, is that the SSPX closed it's chapel before the Governor ordered a lock down!!
