Tragedy in Indianapolis -- a sin that cries to heaven for vengeance:  willful murder of the innocent.  In California this would qualify for the death penalty, because of "special circuмstance, lying in wait."

The second link is very good:  MailOnline

Cruel twist: Nathan decided to switch his daily stroll from the evenings to the mornings because he wanted to spend more time after work with his pregnant wife, Jennifer told MailOnline

Faith: Jennifer said: 'He used to invite so many of my friends to come to Latin Mass and when I saw pictures of how full the church was for his funeral, I thought, he finally did it, he finally got them there'

Missal: The Catholic missal Nathan used to read before bed every night. Jennifer said she now wants to come closer to God 'so I can see Nate again'

  • For some reason the links don't open for me but, this story wrenched my heart so deeply.  R.I.P. Nathan. Thank God they quoted his widow regarding the Latin Mass with respect.

Here's a link to a thread that I started on the topic (it contains a link at the bottom): http://www.cathinfo.com/catholic.php/Watch-ye-therefore-because-you-know-not-the-day-nor-the-hour

The lack of respect for life, especially in the U.S., boggles the mind.
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

    Dear Charlemagne,

Please know that while I appreciate your having "started a thread on this topic," I had no idea the thread existed because there is absolutely nothing in the thread title to indicate that it is about this story:

"Watch ye, therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour." ( 1, 2 )
    » Senseless and Tragic

And the first words of the OP do not contain any clue of the topic (sometimes hovering over a thread title will show a preview of the first words of the OP but no more than 10 or 15 or so):

I assure you that this will absolutely turn your stomach. To hit just a little closer to home (also considering that I was born and raised in Indiana), this man was listening to MP3 recordings of Church teachings. Requiescat in pace.

(The underlined portion is the MOST I could expect to see in such a preview.)

It would be great if members could put at least a few key words in the thread title so that reading the Index for the forums some idea of what the various threads contain can be found there.

Did you guys see the picture of the accused?  The fact that this photo is being circulated on the Internet means his defense lawyers might be able to claim that he can never have a fair trial, because his identity is already known and therefore he has already been convicted before his trial began..

I can't believe you took time to write a dissertation on such a stupid topic. I realize that, once someone clicks on the topic, the bolded headline will give absolutely no clue what the article is about. All I did was link for Elizabeth. That's it. I forgot, obviously, that this is CathInfo, where the only thing more prevalent than BOD/BOB threads is hurt feelings. Please rest assured that I'll try to keep your incredible sensitivity - and rules of posting - in mind before I start a thread in the future.

Such a stupid topic?  A man is brutally murdered and it's a stupid topic?

Unbelievable.  You should be ashamed of yourself.

I hope his widow doesn't read your post.  God help us!

If you have no concern for the "hurt feelings" of a pregnant mother whose husband was shot and killed in cold blood, I have pity for you.

Nice attempt at provocation. You know full well that the "stupid topic" I'm referring to is your response to my not starting a thread that meets your standards, not the crime itself. You're the one who deserves pity, not me.

I have no idea why that would be the case, Elizabeth, because they work for me, I tried them before I posted the new thread to be sure they work, and the link that Charlamagne posted, below, is no different from the ones I posted (technically) but it does link to a different web page.

The link Charlemagne provided on the other thread, here, is a different one to another Daily Mail page, with even more upsetting coverage, on the same story, than the links I provided.

    Dear Charlemagne,

Sorry, I misunderstood you.  Your grammar wasn't clear.

Likewise (again) in this post, above, your grammar isn't clear.

The thread you started "meets my standards" just fine (while this post of yours says the opposite, objectively, even if you meant otherwise).

It wasn't the thread but the THREAD TITLE that is my concern.  You can improve that, by writing more appropriate thread titles.

Furthermore, Matthew recently posted a lot of instructions on only using the General forum as a LAST RESORT, and if a topic fits one of the other forums, that's where it belongs.  I looked through General Index and found nothing about this topic (so I thought by the titles) and so i started this thread in this other forum.

I realize it's frustrating because once you start a thread, this system doesn't allow you to change or modify the thread title.  I wish it did.  There have been many times when I first posted a new thread and regretted the title I chose, but then it's too late, once the "send" button is pushed.  So if that's what you're upset about, "I can feel your pain."

I was merely trying to give a FRIENDLY message to you, that when we compose thread titles, we will make the thread easier to recognize for the content it has, if it's got at least a few words in it that are directly tied to the topic of the thread.

All it was, was a friendly message.  I meant nothing provocative or inflammatory about it.  I have no idea why you're reacting this way.  It's very puzzling.
