  • I've only met one couple IRL with this "problem" -- but they don't have any children.

    And neither is Catholic.

Not that my personal experience is canon, but it might give you some idea that such things DO happen, at least among non-Catholics.

  • Trad husbands don't deserve to be treated by their wives this way.

White knighting really seems to be an ineradicable habit.

  • Anyone who thinks this is respectful to a Catholic husband (if it's legitimate, which I doubt) for a married woman to be asking strangers on an internet forum about this disorder she has is not thinking clearly.

  • For me, the issue lies with discussing something so personal and intimate on the internet for the world to see.

Tele is right: who in the world would want to discuss something like that in front of complete strangers?

I'm not accusing her of intending to troll, but I do think it shouldn't have been asked.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

Maybe not.  Though that raises another question: should it be answered?  Anybody she gets help from is going to be a stranger at first.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • Does this member understand the primary purpose of marriage is to conceive and beget children?

A woman's body is made by God EXACTLY to be used for this purpose.  Sounds like she needs counseling from a priest not PM's on this forum.

  • As a wife, I don't think I'm alone in cringing at the phrase "used exactly for this purpose."  Maybe what this is all about is being treated like an object to be used, rather than a living breathing human being with thoughts feelings and needs.  Maybe that doesn't alter her responsibility, but it would sure make it an event to dread ... at least her feelings in the matter would be understandable to many wives.

Who would come to this forum to mention this?

    This is very suspicious.

    Why?

    It's very likely trolling.

had no understanding I was giving my body away to be used in such a way.

Three babies but can't bear her husband's advances, and she wants to ask here of all places to see if other women feel the same way?

You may be right, I suppose.  It think it is more likely that they are sincere questions.

I can certainly see your point there.

  • Well this is supposed to be anonymous message board. Actually there was a guy came on here a while back because his wife wanted to use birth control and he didn't, as I remember there was lots of advice for him.

Anyhow there a few books on marriage at the CMRI bookstore, I have one, it was quite good. You can look through them here.
