  • So sad. Prayers from me for the baby's soul and for the family.

Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • That was no surprise as Mrs. Duggar is now at the age that makes these miscarriages more common.  What WAS surprising to me is that they made a public announcement so soon since the baby wasn't due until April.  Oh, wait, they're making big bucks with their TV show, so an early announcement is no surprise after all.

I AM glad that they are such good examples of their willingness to accept and embrace the many children that God has sent to them and I am sure that their good example has helped many others to also accept the children that God sends to them and thus prevented many grievous sins of abortion and contraception.  My hat's off to them!

  • I don't want to sound like a jerk yet I may.  I have no problem and would gladly accept all the children GOD would give me and my wife and I am 100% pro life, but I have wondered for a while if the Duggars are just trying to be a side show anymore.

I have my issues with the Duggars but early announcement? She was well into her second trimester when they announced. That is hardly early. She was 19 weeks give or take when they lost the baby last week. 2nd trimester losses are far more rare than the 'typical' 6-10 week miscarriage. I'm also due in April and everyone knows I'm pregnant. Like we could hide it from our children and/or expect them not to tell anyone if we wanted to keep it mum.

  • I appreciate the Duggars for many things.  Their example of faithful marriage, and being open to the lives that God has chosen to bless them with.  Just the fact of the amount of children God has willed them to have seems to me above and beyond the miracle of childbirth.  How many couples, being open to life, have that many children?

That being said, I think doing the show and apparently accepting payment for it is now beginning to be used as an attack against them.  They are being accused of exploiting their children and only being on the reality show to further their own selfish agenda.  I don't believe it's true ... I think the Duggars felt that being on this show would allow America to witness a moral, modest Christian family and to possibly be encouraged by it.  Mr Duggar may have felt it was perfectly fair to accept some compensation for allowing cameras into their lives several days a week.

But it's been a few years now, the point has been made ... and for everyone involved ... children and parent's alike (and now especially with what Michelle has gone through in the last couple of years) I think they should say goodbye to TV.
