Of the modern clothes for women, the two jackets, the gloves, and the sock, so long as there’s a mate are wearable. The t-shirts can be worn for undergarments. The shorts and Capri jeans, no. Not comfortable looking for underwear, too immodest and not comfortable for outer wear. I do have to add, some of the places I’ve hiked, I’d return red as a boiled lobster from sunburn, sunstroke even. That’s no fun! I’m not into skin cancer.
However, if you’re a professional, for example, someone who hikes the seven summits finishing with Everest, a Victorian dress with bustle and corset, or a suit and tie with dress shoes won’t do the trick.
How about a happy medium, more towards covered up than not. You want to dress in layers with the right socks and shoes, and wear a good sturdy hat with brim for serious hiking.
