Title: Dont Go to the Fair
Post by: TheRealMcCoy on June 18, 2016, 09:22:02 PM
Never go to a county or state fair.  I just got fleeced for $50 and left after 20 minutes of being tortured with the world's largest conglomeration of half-naked morbidly obese teenage girls. Didn't even stay long enough to enjoy some fried oreos.

I'm definitely buying a billards table.

Wordly amusements are never fun. I don't even go to the theater.

Was that the price of admission, were you pickpocketed, or what?

Unfortunately, Americans have become demonic slobs.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with modest, humble, simple dress, even when it's "low end" clothing, I'm all for it, simple is good when modest and covering yourself, but there's a cavernous difference between that and being a walking vector of spiritual swine flu.

Another issue about state Fairs, their is lots of crime in the parking lots.
People staying all day at the fair to see all the exhibits, the music, the
bands and ride all the rides. When they leave it is dark and their has
been cases of being bodily harm, robed and beaten by violent gangs.
In many cases people are not warned so they are not aware of this.
The authorities wanted to be politically correct because the gangs are
a certain skin color. And are afraid that they will get in trouble with
the Federal Government and are accused of racially profiling people.

Have you tried bacon-wrapped fried oreos with confectioner's glaze?

Seriously.

I foolishly paid that price for what I thought would be tractor pulls, livestock shows, rides, and lots of delicious junk food.  Instead I got eardrum bursting hip hop, the stench of cigarettes and cheap beer, and more spray-tanned flesh than Daytona Beach.  My kids were in so much shock they just stood in a daze.  They told me on the way home that they think we were in hell.

I realize that being isolated has made us naive.  I really didn't know what fairs had become.  I'll be in the confessional today.......

We have a couple of decent county fairs that are recently priced.
The best time to go with family would be during the day.

Avoid evenings at the fair crowded.

I used to go for the same reasons, but have only gone once or twice in the last 10 years, and even then the fair is only a small town fair. If we go at all, we get there as the fair opens, which is usually around time for lunch, so there's a chance to satisfy your junk food craving and browse the 4H animals, then leave before most of the vampiras come out, who usually don't start prowling about the fair till mid to late afternoon.

Why would any one thumb down this?
Go there during the day with family and leave before evening.

Instead of complaining, rent out space at the county or state fair with sound Catholic teachings to educate people. Also, hand out church bulletins or information where they can attend the Catholic Mass or have  contact info for a traditional Catholic Priest if anyone has questions.
