    This doesn't affect most of us, but when will they come after R and R's, Sedes and Independents and accuse us of "spreading the virus" by continuing the Holy Sacrifice?

    • Everyone else can still ride the buses, trains, taxis and ferries, go to work as usual in large crowds.

    But Timmy somehow "cancels" the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass?

    Is this what Christianity is down to these days? First ones out the door in the face of adversity?


    I know people shouldn't be stupid, but what happens when these so-called men of faith take away the people's hope and for some, the only vestige left for any kind of solace and sanctity in all this corona madness?


    Is this how the Church handled all the plagues, pestilence and disease for the last two millennium?

    As of now, SSPX Mass in Manhattan is still going on. I just asked Father. That is PROOF that the SSPX is in schism.

    The reality is that "Timmy" hasn't cancelled the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. He cancelled a Protestant meal.

    Excellent point.  I'll take it one step further:  Dolan isn't the only "ordinary" who has cancelled all "masses".  Wouldn't this apply to all masses in these dioceses that are said "in communion with Francis"?

    I think it probably depends upon which flavor of R&R.  Certainly the SSPX have made a point of saying that they're in submission to the Ordinaries ... so I'm very curious whether they'll have Mass in those states or diocese where it's not been forbidden by the governor but has been cancelled by the Ordinary.  Groups like the Resistance believe that the Ordinaries have jurisdiction but do not pretend to be in submission to them in any real way.

    • Looks like St. Peregrine ... in the Cleveland area will be defying the local Ordinary and going ahead with Mass.

    Are they REALLY subject to the Ordinary or are they not?  Which one is it, SSPX?  It's like they're always wanting to have their cake and eat it too.

    Ohio's governor has also banned groups of over 100, and St. Peregrine's might come close for any given Mass.

    I know that Father Carley in Akron gets nearly 200 for his 9:00 AM Sunday Mass.

    • As of now, the SSPX Mass in Manhattan is cancelled. In Ridgefield  and Long Island there is Mass, but I think they are limited to 50 people in attendance at each Mass. I don't know what they are doing about confession.

    I get the impression that they are following the orders of governors, but not necessarily the decrees of the local Ordinaries.

    • Dolan didn't have much of a choice since Westchester is in the archdiocese covers and had a state mandated 10 person rule. Any public building was ordered closed.
