My friend in Christ, if you only knew how desperately the 'protestant' heretics need to read words like yours!
The sin of presumption, the sin that says that 'I will be able to attain Heaven no matter what I do', 'I will certainly always be in right standing with God no matter how I behave' and other blasphemous things, is a terrible and all-too-common sin in this world.
I do not concern myself with whether I am 'elect' or not. I simply concern myself with learning what Christ says, what His Apostles say and what His Church has taught throughout history. I concern myself with imitating Christ and His saints who have exemplified faith and perseverance through the centuries.
Let us leave off with this 'will I?', 'might I be' kind of thinking and simply live each moment as if it is our FIRST and LAST chance to draw near to God in prayer, in mortifications and in acts of charity and faith. That is, after all, what each moment is; our newest and best chance to hide ourselves in the Sacred Heart and imitate the humble faith of Our Lady.
Mary, Our Lady of perpetual help, pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Holy Spirit, blessed Paraclete, enlighten and strengthen us.
St. Anthony of Padua, hammer of heretics, terror of Hell, pray for us.
