  • I am pretty sure that the cspv Daughters of Mary wear wedding rings.  As for priests, there apparently is the practice by where a bishop secretly gives one to a priest in the hope that one day he have need of it/becomes a bishop.

  • Not wedding bands per se, but plain rings that could appear to be wedding bands.

    Quote from: [i
Catholic Encyclopedia[/i], "Rings"]The plain rings worn by certain orders of nuns and conferred upon them in the course of their solemn profession, according to the ritual provided in the Roman Pontifical appear to find some justification in ancient tradition. St. Ambrose (P.L., XVII, 701, 735) speaks as though it were a received custom for virgins consecrated to God to wear a ring in memory of their betrothal to their heavenly Spouse. This delivery of a ring to professed nuns is also mentioned by several medieval Pontificals, from the twelfth century onwards.

  • Yes, the the ring practice has been around certainly since the 7th and 8th century.  However, I am not particularly fond of it.
