Discussion with Fr. David Sherry SSPX
« on: July 18, 2020, 05:27:10 PM »
Below is a 2 hour discussion this week with Fr. David Sherry SSPX.  The last hour is best.  He speaks on the Pope, and some recent events in Rome and the SSPX view.  Answers some very BASIC misconceptions.
Fr. Sherry will be the Superior of Canada starting in August leaving OLMC in Ontario, Canada.

What's with all these young superiors in the sspx?  New, non-ABL breed?

Father Sherry has been a priest for 13 years.  Granted there are others much longer but who are "all these young superiors" of whom you speak.
Speaking only of Father Sherry, he is extremely knowledgeable of the faith and can express/teach it very well.
Seems qualified.

So he's promoting the +Schneider line that parts of Vatican II need to be corrected, rather than +Vigano's (IMO correct) position that it needs to be entirely thrown out.

13 years may seem like a long time to you, but not to those of us who have been traditional for 50 years or more.

Total = 19 district superiors
Ordained 2010s = 0
Ordained 2000s = 5 = 26.3%
Ordained 1990s = 9 = 46.4%
Ordained 1980s = 3 = 15.8%
One ordination date is unknown.

I do not know how many SSPX priests are in the SSPX, but I am sure there are at least 19 who were ordained by ABL, who could and should be district superiors.

The only reason I can see to have younger priests in such positions of authority is because they have been indoctrinated new-SSPX.
