Why?  Please give your reasons.
He dabbled in the occult like so many other Rock Stars. I don't want to go into the foul details that you can find many sources of, or of his foul mouthed quotes. The Protestants do a good job of summarizing if you want more details. (link below) Maybe he grappled with it throughout his life, and tried to find the right path, but overall he was a very bad influence on the youth and his fans.

He's right in the same boat with The Doors, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and many others who "sold their soul for rock and roll". They were all anti- Christian and anti Christ. He's just a little more smooth about it on the surface, like butter, but you look under and you are shocked. .... They found him dead from drug abuse sitting on a toilet with a bad book in his hand. Some say he let the wrong people control him, but of course, he is ultimately responsible for his own soul. I pray that he did ask God for forgiveness at the very end.

Looks like you believe everything you read.
Do you have anything first hand to support your advice to Catholics to stay away from his "music"?
