But... but... but... the rest of the world is always lecturing us, and tut-tutting us, for allowing responsible gun owners to bear arms for self-defense.
I suppose, in their minds, when someone has you at gunpoint, you're just supposed to accept that your life has come to an end.
This is one reason that, as long as there are gun rights, I do not plan ever to leave the United States to live somewhere else. (I almost did in my thirties.) Flawed as this country is, as bogus as its founding was, it is the only country in the world where, according to its own Constitution, bearing arms is an
a priori unalienable right. There are also some states I would not live in either.
