  • Is it ok for me (a catholic) to rock out to some heavy as metal thats reminescent of funeral dirges, and still be a devout catholic? A priest i know said it wasnt and it was destructive for the soul. This is a MASSIVE issue of epic proportions facing me ATM innit. It inspired me to pick up the electric guit and thrash out on that axe leaving the frets hot, and nearly on fire. I can make a sound like a demon in my guitar from one my main idol (whos now deceased) SHRED IN PIECE, all inspired from "Satanic or THE DEVILS Music. The ironic thing is though, if Heavy Metal is from the devil, then how the hell can POP (which we can all agree is mainstream, and i s claiming many a soul through impurities) not be from the devil either??? To me, we live in the age of the antichrist and he has given different genres of music to claim souls by reversing some ancient philosophers thoughts Melody, Harmony, Rythym etc the other way round. Anyway, i thought it's not so bad, as long as you don't let it have a negative effect on you, yeah?

Much of heavy metal is openly satanic. Pop music is more subtle but is also satanic in its promotion of fornication, ѕυιcιdє, ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity, and general mind control. Turn off the TV AND the radio. Classical and ethnic folk music is much better. There is a form of heavy metal that resembles classical music. Some of that might be okay.

  • as long as it doesn't have an affect on you, it can't be too bad...

    Sigh.

You're young, entangled in the attitudes of the world and being crushed under the
    "logic" of modernism.

I've said this over and over... we have no right asking what trash from the world is acceptable for us WHILE WE ARE STILL NOT PURSUING SANCTITY AS WE SHOULD!!

There are spiritual blessings and treasures untold to be found in the disciplines of prayer and the imitation of Our Lord and Our Lady and the saints.

Please, for the sake of your soul, stop digging for anything worthwhile in the filth of the world.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
This evil of heresy spreads itself. The doctrines of godliness are overturned; the rules of the Church are in confusion; the ambition of the unprincipled seizes upon places of authority; and the chief seat [the Papacy] is now openly proposed as a rewar

All depends on what is the meaning of life, what are we all hear for?

If our purpose is to have a good time, then personally, I would have a harem rather than that useless electric git. But that's me, a handsome man. Just look at my Avitar, look at those pearly whites.

What is your purpose here on Earth?

No, there are crediblly metal-ish covers of classics like Vivaldi's Summer. Jeff Loomis' Miles of Machines is a modern example of classical-ish metal that is not noticeably satanic.

It is ironic that the quintessential music of the devil is so dependent upon forms developed under the auspices of Catholicism. Vivaldi was a Catholic priest of 500 years ago who wrote church music.

Three hundred years ago. His dates were 1678 to 1741.
