That's well said. (Not "good" said.)

And it helps to put into perspective the modern practice of even pre-teens having "dates" as if they would have any awareness of what they're playing with.

That just sounds like a protestant "evangelical" trying to keep his daughter in the house...And first of all most of these rules don't even apply to dating with the intent of getting married.
