  • I have to work tonight and the family has a massive DVD collection. I was looking through it the other day and noticed the movie Cold Mountain, and I was thinking about watching it after the kids go to bed.

Is it really immoral/inappropriate? I don't think I've watched a movie in months. There really isn't much that is okay.

  • I saw it a long time ago ... pre discernment.  It is inappropriate and has immodesty and impurity galore.

    is a good resource.

There are quite a few such review sites including screenit.com and decentfilms.com but kidsinmind is my favorite. useful for anyone who wants to know content without having to view a movie, for adults or children.

  • It's rated R for violence and sɛҳuąƖity but you needed to ask if it is inappropriate?

  • That I recall, no nudity, but there is of course violence and there are scenes with unmarried people, where it is clear there is pre-marital sex and if recall right, some language.

Yes, for "very, very" many films the well known Internet Movie Database IMDB is very helpful to decide if we can watch a certain film: www.imdb.com/title/tt0159365/

When you browse the film's title and then scroll down to the section named "Motion Picture Rating (MPAA)", you can click the link named "Parents Guide: View content advisory".

For this film "Cold Mountain" the Parents Guide would be as follows, but we really can't quote here what they write about this film: www.imdb.com/title/tt0159365/parentalguide

Also you see which actors play in this film.
For this film for example we see guys like the anti-Catholic ex-Catholic Nicole Kidman with her wax face, so my desire to watch a film drops to absolute zero no matter what the Parents Guide says.

Oh, and on the IMDB page for this film we see right below the film's poster, as 3rd photograph Nicole Kidman standing next to the film's executive producer: a certain Harvey Weinstein. Aside his typical beastly face he's an absolute guarantor for filth (films). Well, that's the task of the deicide folk, to drown the world with their filth and to to destroy the last Catholic bastion named SSPX with their office guys Krah & Fr Pfluger.
(And it's funny how the deicide folk "copyright protect" their filth with all means. See the droll story when they attacked this fat but huge German named Kim Schmitz in New Zealand. He's not a moral guy for sure but obviously the right match to them. This battle of giants -- Schmitz is a literal giant and the others are because of their incredible power -- is superb to watch. Unfortunately Menzingen's copyright battle against those brave men who dared to publish Archbishop Lefebvre's sermons was not so superb to watch...)

Tiffany, you have publicly stated that you keep me on ignore, so why do you feel the need to pick on me?  For Greater Glory is also rated R so I just thought  I'd ask for more details.

I forgave you (even without an apology) for calling me a horrible name.  Now you feel the need to be mean again? Please just  leave me alone.

  • Greater Glory-would urge everyone to see it...the rating is likely due to situations and battle-violence,etc....there are some moving and graphic scenes, esp the martyrdom of Blessed Jose....

I had the theater to myself when I saw if a few months ago, went from    in some scenes to  :applause: :dancing-banana: in others

Tiffany, you have publicly stated that you keep me on ignore, so why do you feel the need to pick on me?

You posted a question on a public message board. I replied and  this is picking on you?  You will spin anything in an attempt to make yourself out to be a victim PW.

For Greater Glory is also rated R so I just thought  I'd ask for more details.

I forgave you (even without an apology) for calling me a horrible name.

You lied and misrepresented yourself repeatedly, you continually attack others including myself, and you are highly manipulative. Now you are forgiving me for calling you out.  How noble of you!

Now you feel the need to be mean again?
Victim Again. I have never been mean to you  nor do a "feel the need" like you state.

     Please just  leave me alone.

You can choose not to respond to my posts.  It's a message board.

  • If you didn't want the ATTENTION, PW, why did you post on a PUBLIC forum?  Why didn't you Google the movie or look it up on a Catholic movie review site?  Obviously you can get around on the computer, you've shown us so many good sites.  Just wondering.

  • The Passion of the Christ is rated R for violence.  And should be.  That hardly makes it a bad movie.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

Get "birth of a nation" aka "the clansman"  It's loaded with ante-bellum fashion!   :laugh1:

If you want to see a really good movie, see "On Dangerous Ground" (1952).  A cop who's lost his charity and has to find it again and does!
