  • Christian leaders in Egypt have sent the nation’s government a draft of legislation on church construction, according to a Fides news agency report.

Church construction has been subject to hostile regulations-- some of which date from Ottoman times, others from 1934-- and to the whim of local authorities. The government of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who assumed office in June, has signaled an openness to regulations that are more favorable to Christians.

Lets hope that this comes to pass and they can be able to build churches as they are needed.
