  • Apparently there is now an ‘indult’ allowing Catholics to be cremated. Where can I find Traditional Catholic teaching on cremation?..

Duck Duck Go search is only bringing up current changes on the Church’s previous stance on cremation. I can’t find the original condemnations…

  • Is it just me or is the SSPX being wishy-washy here about cremation?..

“The Church reacted strongly. Cremation in itself is not intrinsically evil, nor is it repugnant to any Catholic dogma, not even the resurrection of the body for even after cremation God’s almighty Power is in no way impeded. No divine law exists which formally forbids cremation. The practice is, however, in opposition to the constant, unbroken tradition of the Church since its foundation.”

  • Patience is a conquering virtue. The learned say that, if it not desert you, It vanquishes what force can never reach; Why answer back at every angry speech? No, learn forbearance or, I'll tell you what, You will be taught it, whether you will or not.

  • Cremation is pagan.  NO is the answer to cremation.  Traditionals will refuse to give requiem Mass, priest of traditional will refuse to stay out of mortal sin.

Priest will even ask the family before giving Extreme Unction how will the deceased by buried. They are onto you!

  • I went to SSPX site and read about cremation, then I compared that reading to www.traditio.com  and to compare the 2  IMO SSPX does come across wishy-washy.

But rest assure that traditional priests, at least the ones I know that are not SSPX, they will ask before giving Extreme Unction, how the deceased will be buried.
