  • Rick the Protestant writes , “It hurts women the most
It should be no surprise to learn that the people who get hurt the most by the rising costs of child care are women. According to the Women’s Bureau study, the higher the increase in child care costs, the lower the maternal employment rate falls. Additionally, even in counties where women made more money, the “higher child care prices remained a barrier to maternal employment in higher-wage areas.”
And for many conservative men, perhaps that’s the point. All the major conservative evangelical parachurch ministries believe a woman’s place is in the home, rather than in the workplace. Voddie Baucham goes so far as to argue adult daughters should stay at home to serve their dads for life until they get married to serve their husbands.”

(While Rick’s wife goes out to work as he stays home.).

  • Not that I think role reversals are a good idea, I don’t. But be careful not to judge rashly by appearances. Once a couple has children, there has to be food on the table, clothing on the body, and shelter from the elements, plus a lot more.  In today's turned inside-out and up-side-down world, people do what they have to do.  If it were a choice of Dad raising the children at home or putting the children to be raised by strangers in daycare, I’ll take Dad any day. These days, there’s no longer such a thing as company or workplace longevity, job security, loyalty to a workplace…Unions, where they exist, milk their members’ pay and align themselves with radical left wing causes. Something like 20% of employed Americans do not have a union to belong to.  A so-called middle class lifestyle where a man with a high school education and perhaps a tour in the military could support a wife, a family, and a home on a 40 hour work week is a thing that lasted from 1946-1976.
So if Mom’s income can be the main support and Dad’s can’t, Dad may need to man up and put on his apron. :cowboy:

  • It is Rick who does tons of rash judgement against those who hold a biblical view because he is a total liberal.  He is the liberal novus Ordo of Baptists.

He called Dave Ramsey dumb because Dave thought it was crazy for anyone to pay $25,000 per kid for child care while wife goes back to complete medical residency to be a doctor.  (Then these people who go to med school want you and Me to pay for their student loans.)

Rick is a stay at home dad who makes money and writes articles to promote anti Christian values as the new religion.

  • This is written by Rick:

    https://baptistnews.com/article/2023-was-the-year-the-evangelical-obsession-with-pride-month-turned-violent/

“I toted my brood of children through Target,as Kevin DeYoung suggested, when suddenly I noticed the display of Pride T-shirts.
At first, I thought it was nice that my LGBTQ neighbors would receive kind messages like “Free Mom Hugs” and “You Belong.” It seemed especially needed given that I live in a very evangelical community in the South and messages like this are hard to come by for LGBTQ people.
My second reaction was to laugh, imagining what all the conservative evangelicals were feeling as they walked by the shirts. I thought: Somebody should put some microphones in here or set up some cameras to catch their reaction.
But a week later, the clothes were gone, as if Pride Month had disappeared. Apparently, there was more going on than evangelicals merely muttering under their breath on their way to the toy section……”

  • Sorry if I offended some people.  I’m not familiar with this “Rick” guy, a Baptist, you say?   I was just trying to see today’s situation through the eyes of ordinary Catholics trying their best to have Godly families.  I don’t have a TV, haven’t for decades now, and don’t listen to radio much, either.  Maybe the weather forecast.  I use a tablet, but don’t do any social media or watch much other than occasional docuмentaries, nature shows, crafts, diy hacks, sermons, good music, or to livestream Mass. I don’t follow blogs, even Catholic ones. I’m completely out of touch with “celebrities,” sports, movies, so-called influencers online. I can’t stand more than a few minutes of politicians. They aren’t leaders or statesmen/women, most are evil, and the few that aren’t act like immature brats without a trace of manners, respect, or dignity.  There are still good people out there, but they’re just not found on MSM including most of the internet.

  • It’s ok.  When I copied the part where the guy is stay at home dad it came out large print.

I understand where you are coming from.

The guy is a total grifter preaching a different gospel.  I don’t follow the guy either or blogs.  I look at YouTube stuff free (with commercials.). Tv here but use the dvd.  We have cells.

    You are right about msm.

He's an idiot, the rising costs of "child care" hurts, of all things, ironically is the CHILDREN.

It puts way too much burden on the parents to come up with the shakedown money every week from these child care centers. The reality is, you shouldn't be selling out you children to be raised by complete strangers or selling your souls to come up with the shekels to have  them off to the so called "child care" centers. No one can raise their children better than the mother, not even the father, most men are idiots trying to replace the role of a mother of nurturer and nature.

Voddie Baucham makes a good point, ironically how they refer hi comments of daughters supporting their fathers as "servitude" , God forbid you support the patriarch of your family, when in doing so, you support the family itself. But these pundits and women, have no problem becoming serfs to the corporations and the state over their own blood and family.

But, ah yes, they call that "liberation" and FREEDOM.::)

There is a way to eliminate most of the ads fro YouTube without paying.  Unfortunately, I’m not the one to ask about that!  Get someone who knows computers.  Aren’t many of their ads rather offensive?

I just copy YouTube links and watch them embed. If I don't do that, I'll often watch videos via the duckduckgo video section.
I recant many opinions on the crisis in the Church and moral theology that I have espoused on here from at least 2019-2021 don't take my postings from that time as well as 2022 possibly too seriously.

True, but the strictness of the bulit-in ad blocker may need to be upped. uBlock Origin is a good multi-platform solution, and it's honestly a near-essential for safely browsing the modern web, both for your device and your soul.
