Does anyone here follow Thomas Droleskey? I rarely hear anyone talk about him on the forums, but he is a real guy and a traditional Catholic. A few years ago there were rumors that he got himself ordained in the Thuc line. He writes all these long articles every day and begs for money. Does anyone read his stuff? Or donate money to him?
    R.I.P.

  • I bought one of his tomes, Bergoglio at War with the Catholic Faith, which is a collection of his articles. He writes a lot of good articles, they're just very long so it's definitely a time commitment. They tend to read better in a printed format too. I check in on his site once a week or so.
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

    .
I've been hearing that story for a decade now and everyone who tells it to me I ask, "What proof is there for that?" And no one has ever given me any proof for that story. So I'm pretty skeptical of it.

  • I used to read him.  I think it was before my CathInfo days. I found him an excellent writer and a clear thinker, but far too longwinded which spoiled it for me at times.

PS Just going into the link Matto posted, his setup has not changed, clear and simple. It reminded me of how I liked the way he tied the faith in with politics.

  • I saw him speak about 13 or 14 years ago. At the time he had a young wife and small children. If he is a priest now, a lot of things must have changed.

I would guess he was not ordained. But people started a rumor. I learned a few years ago when talking about him on one of the defunct sede forums that he was a controversial figure and had enemies because of his articles about various groups.

    .
Yes, this is basically true. He has gotten into various internal controversies in different chapels over the years. Whether that would cause someone to make up a story about him being ordained, I don't know. In any case, I will not believe such a story about someone unless I see some pretty clear evidence, and there isn't any with this story that I've seen so far, so I don't really buy it.

  • Golly, before we get the rumor mill going, how about we check out what Mr. Droleskey says about himself first, yes?

I see nothing about him being ordained a priest there.
