  • childorg was once known as Childrens Christian Fund.

    You remember Sally Struthers ?

Started by an evangelical minister, for years they operated under the guise that somehow contributions would not only be used to help children, but would also promote Jesus.

In 2009 the organization took the name of Jesus and tossed it to the curb. According to accounts on the web the organization never promoted Christianity in their program.

How come whenever they displayed filthy unclad kids in their commercials their parents were never shown ? Think about that.

Anyway, I don't give money to anyone anymore. Tithing is an issue for me now too because this new Pope, I don't want to feed the heretic.

  • Sound to me like a convenient excuse not to contribute to the support of the Church.

I do not contribute to the support of anything Conciliar (or even anything affiliated with or that seeks to be part of anything Conciliar).

However, this does not mean that one should not contribute, or tithe, to support the Church and her mission.

Consider just a few places where one can contribute and fulfill one's obligations:

    --The CMRI and CMRI chapels.
    --The SSPX "Resistance".
    --Any number of independent chapels.
    --Restoration Radio.
--"In the Spirit of Chartres" Committee.
    --Novus Ordo Watch.
--The odd gentleman or woman who could truly use your assistance (if you know of anyone at anytime).

And, frankly, there are countless others.  But to point to an organization that never was Catholic and never claimed to be Catholic that is not really doing what they said they would do as a reason you don't "give money to anyone anymore" is, frankly, incredibly niggardly and destructive of your soul.

    An excuse ?

I am just not going to throw my money away anymore. Catholic Relief Services give money to orgs providing or promoting abortions. Catholic Charities works with United Way which funnels money to PP. Now those orgs are not only claim to be Catholic but they are Catholic.

None of the orgs you list I have no association with so that would be your job now wouldn't it ? I do not think I am destroying my soul by guarding my treasures or talents.

  • Actually, it's sounding more like an excuse than in your first post.

I am not suggesting or even encouraging you to give to the Conciliar church.  I don't know why you keep bringing that up.  Giving to that group would be the same as giving to the Lutheran church or the Mormons.  I'm not suggesting or even encouraging you to give to the "social service" organizations you mention or for many such organizations for the very reasons you cite.

But if you think that "guarding your treasure" is so important and you simply refuse to even bother to look for an acceptable place to give some of the treasure God has given you, then I can only say, "May God have mercy on your soul."

For gooch, The Salvation Army is a church so alms giving to them is not acceptable for a Catholic.  Oh, and their official "position" on abortion is that it is a "deeply personal decision" that has to be made between "a woman and her doctor".  Many of your local crisis pregnancy centers would be better than The Salvation Army.

I gave a number of Catholic organizations above.  There are many more than just these.  You needn't tell me "my job", crossbro.  I am fully aware of my "job" when it comes to supporting the Church.  But I am not the one who has publicly declared that "guarding his treasure" is more important than "giving to God that which belongs to God."

  • Yeah, Salvation Army is an anabaptist, sola-scriptura organization.  Can't support that.

Why not give to a priest who you KNOW is doing God's Will, or don't you trust anyone at all?
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

No.  Novus Ordo Watch is a Catholic educational website exposing the corruption of the Conciliar church.  They are not a legally classified "non-profit" organization and donations to them are not tax-deductible, but I doubt very much that Novus Ordo Watch is a profit making enterprise.

    Their homepage is at:  http://www.novusordowatch.org/

I further suggest you visit their newswire at:  http://www.novusordowatch.org/wire

I don't think it's a "trust" issue.  It sounds more like a "guarding his treasure" issue.

  • One good way to give is to buy grocery store gift cards and give them out to people you think could really use them.

  •  Though there are many worthy causes, with the crisis we are in any extra cash I have to donate will go to the resistance. Either to OLMC for priests or the seminary, or for the monasteries,  or the convent being started. There are so many needs within the resistance, that I don't need to look for other options to give.

And its founder, William Booth, was a 33rd degree mason.
