  • This is the 1610 A.D. Douay Old Testament and the 1582 A.D. Rheims New Testament in Old English:

Thanks for this link, I've always been interested in the original version of the DR translation due to its faithfulness to the Vulgate.
If the world is against the Truth, then I am against the World. - St. Athanasius
In necessariis unitas, in dubiis libertas, in omnibus caritas - St. Augistine

  • I'd love to see what they base this on ... some obscure version of the Greek text somewhere, probably accidentally omitted by a scribe.  It's very easy when you're transcribing a Bible to just skip a verse.  That's why you usually compare a number of different manuscripts.
They base it on their stomachs!  The Conciliar sect despises fasting.

  • I found this here.  So to fair, there are some older manuscripts that are missing this verse.
There's also that infamous Protestant bible where the publisher omitted the word, not, in the Commandment, "Thou shalt not commit adultery."  Just because some manuscript erroneously left a verse out when they were being copied by hand and copies of that copy were produced, doesn't mean that anyone should forgive these demons for removing verses and words from scripture.  We know for certain this verse is part of the inspired word of God as it has been approved by the Church as such.
