  • Wouldn't be a good idea for chapels to have a posted list of at least partial names and the trade/business/skill set of each regular attendee? Perhaps even a list of all the mass locations in case a trade isn't found locally and someone is willing to do business at a distance, or is travelling.

    We do in Canada.

  • I’d love to see such a directory, where we could direct business to other Traditional Catholics rather than the heathen.  And it needn’t be chapel by chapel, as much business can be transacted remotely.

That's kindof what I had in mind with my previous post.  I don't think it would be useful just as a long thread, though.  It would have to be indexed somehow by trade.  Not sure how to pull it off in a forum format, but perhaps it's just a single post that you could edit (forever) and keep making additions, changes, etc.

It could be a thread that anyone could respond/post to, and I would periodically edit the OP, sorting everything by category, location, etc. Basically collating all the posts, and trimming them as they get absorbed (processed) into the OP.

Sounds great.  Yes, so long as one wouldn’t have to go to page 35 to find something.  I think if you could keep OP up to date, that would work.

  • You could put me down for computer programming, Matthew, although I'm too busy right now to take much on (two jobs and trying to start a business on the side), nor would I want to compete with others who might be in the same field, especially given how busy I am ... but if someone had an urgent need that others couldn't assist with, I'd be happy to help them out to the extent I can.  I would think many of the CI members here might want to retain anonymity, though I've revealed my identity ... even if it's buried in threads (people like John Pontrello have "doxed" me though by having dug through and found it ... not easy to do if you're not motivated).

If you wanted to get it started, using your discretion about whether you want to use my real name ...

Computer Programming -- C# (.NET, .NET Core, Desktop/Web, APIs), Java (APIs), Database Work (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.), general IT, Microsoft Azure admin (setting up and managing servers, resources, etc.), beginning to dabble with Mobile Apps using .NET MAUI (cross-platform for all phones/mobile devices) but not quite there yet.

    Latin/Greek translation

Akron/Cleveland OH area (though most of this can be done remotely)

Not sure if we'd want to include address/phone number or just have people use DM (in which case using real names wouldn't be necessary)

As I said, too busy to do much of anything right now, but maybe just to get the directory started.

You'd probably want to index it somehow by field/area rather than by name.

  • I once hired Fr. Angeli's brother-in-law, who was married to father's (surprise!) divorced sister who both attended the local sspx chapel.  BIG MISTAKE!  Lies, lies, and more lies...  the final straw was when a subcontractor of his sole $50,000 of materials and he did not make good on the theft.  This man, a supposed "good trad".

Never again will I hire someone I go to Church with.  Never.
