With the push for abortion in Ireland the 'Mother and Baby' home in Tuam is back in the news. Caroline Farrow from England is the only one I have seen 'tweet' and write well seeking truth. A few Irish Catholics have made an attempt but are failing for enemy propaganda.
I commended Caroline Farrow. My relative died in the home. In ways it is rather unfair on Caroline Farrow. Catholics here should be defending the church and not losing any ground to this vile and enemy media.
The Bon Secours order, who ran the home hired a public relations company as they were not experts in dealing with the media. Those quite rightly seeking answers should contact the health service as the Bon Secours handed over files in 1961?
An anti Catholic sentiment has been whipped up. They use people hurt by religious orders as pawns. The Free State used religious orders and now the religious orders are made scapegoats.
Probably best to treat this media with contempt but at same time a few articles are necessary. What Caroline Farrow has done is very good. The key points in a tweet which can reach thousands.
An Irish journalist wrote this via the twitter.
Mother and baby homes not just a blemish on religious groups (of several denominations) either. This was propagated by the Irish state.
I was praising the National Party and whilst they should be still supported I wouldn't agree with this from their Vice President
Scandal of dumping of bodies of babies + toddlers is indictment of Puritanical Culture of Abuse nurtured by Religious Orders!
Religious Orders responsible for Culture of Abuse owe families of victims an Apology + Taxpayers €1Bn for Redress deficit cost!
No bodies were dumped and religious orders have already apologised. I once prayed with Sisters of Mercy at the graves of women who stayed in a Magdalen home. A more powerful act.
If we concede to this vile media Catholics will compromise. Those pushing for abortion couldn't careless about women or genuine victims of abuse.
